Lutz Holding GmbH looks back on a long history. In 1954, Karl Lutz, a trained mechanical engineer, established “Karl Lutz – Maschinen- und Apparatebau” in the challenging post-war period. In the following years, the company specialised in the development and production of pump systems for industrial applications under the name Lutz Pumpen GmbH.

Significant technological milestones include the first explosion-proof drum pump motor with PTB approval in 1963 and an environmentally-friendly pump for the complete emptying of drums and containers, which received the Bavarian State Prize in Gold in 1989.

Since the products of Lutz Pumpen GmbH attracted strong international interest due to their innovative strength, the company was able to expand rapidly. The family-owned company has established branch offices worldwide, including in the USA, England, Hungary, France, the Netherlands and China. To offer customers an even wider range of products and more comprehensive support, Lutz Pumpen GmbH has joined forces with other companies from the industry. A major milestone in this development was the acquisition of Jesco Dosiertechnik from Wedemark.

The group also includes Lutz-Jesco Suisse SA from Couvet, which sells electric motors, pumps and dosing systems on the Swiss market, and Lutz Packaging GmbH from Wertheim, a specialist in the sale of primary packaging made of tubular glass.
